What is an entrance gate to Great American Ballpark?

Ah, this one's a stumper, I see!

I wasn't stumped. I was merely wrong.

I will say, if you put "circle r baseball stadium" into google images, the only response that comes up is a pitcher of Bill Gates' 66,000 square foot house. Looks pretty nice, if you go for that sort of thing.

What is a symbol for the New York subway system?

(There better not be a penalty for guessing in Double round.)

6.   Score Bard
There is no penalty for guessing. But you can only guess once. Subsequent guesses, even if correct, don't count.

No correct guesses yet.

This is actually where Jimmy Durante buried the missing loot from "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World".

People just heard him wrong.

So this, I gather, is the ungettable final question of the round. Personally, I'm husbanding my resources (i.e., waiting for 15 or so more wrong guesses before I weigh in). Meanwhile, to keep things fair for all, be warned that Turnstiles has shaken a hint out of Ken over at The Griddle . . .

It looks familiar, but I can't locate it...

I'm not sure that what the Bard said qualifies as much of a hint, but if anyone can divine some useful information from it, more power to 'em. I've had a couple of vague ideas that seemed promising (one similar to gracie's guess, one unrelated to anything anyone else has said so far), but too-much-time spent searching google hasn't turned either one into a real answer.

The funny thing was that I got the 1000 point question in this category almost instantly. All I had to do was check the spelling.

I would have thought that somebody would have recognized this instantly, but apparently I was wrong.

I guess it's more like the thing the magician doesn't want you to look at. It's right in front of you, but you never see it, because you're distracted by something else.

You mean it's like that "card trick" on the Internet where you see five face cards and are told to think of one. Then one of them is "removed" and on the next screen, you're amazed to see it gone because they just put pictures of four other face cards?
2005-12-14 09:38:34
14.   Score Bard
Ummm, not quite.

Maybe it's more like those "Find Five Differences" cartoons, where they change a few little things in the picture, and it's really hard to notice. If the R wasn't there, or if it was moved or changed, you would never notice unless you were really concentrating to find something that was different.

I'm going to go out on a limb here...

What is a white R on a circlular red field, surrounded by a white and a black circle, and as for the where: attached to a piece of red mesh metal that's been cross with red beams, probably made of wood, but possibly metal.

Don't be silly. The "where" is obviously "on my computer monitor."

So, Humma and I can split the prize, right?

I don't think so, Kyle.

OK, I'm making up a new rule. I can do that, because it's my game.

The new rule is this: if nobody gets the question after 24 hours, I start giving hints. Each time I give a hint, the value drops in half.

Those who guessed before are allowed to guess again, after each new hint.

The first hint will be given at 8PM PT.

The photograph was not rotated. This is a straight-on view.
