Stupid Humbug Stat Tricks - You're 16, you're beautiful & you're mine Edition
2007-08-01 07:39
by dianagramr

As noted in this morning's Banter, the Yankees put up 16 runs against the woeful White Sox at the Stadium last night.

This happened to be the third consecutive home game in which the Yanks put at least a "16-spot" on their "guests". The Bombers had concluded their last homestand with 17-5 and 21-4 pastings of the hapless Devil Rays.

There had been only one other occurence of a team scoring at least 16 runs in two consecutive home games during the last 50 years.

Here's the breakdown on the outbursts ...

Team Start Games AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI SO BB SB CS BA OBP SLG OPS Opponents
NYY 7/21/07 3 128 54 61 14 1 16 53 13 14 4 1 .477 .524 .977 1.501 TBD,CHW
