The Winner in the Urbina-for-Polanco trade is...

by Score Bard

Here, I'm a Phillies defender.
Dombrowski is off on a bender.
They aren't facing the truth:
They need talented youth,
The Tigers are not a contender.

Polanco's 29, not "youth" but works nicely with Guillen in the middle infield. Going with Percy as their closer is shady, though. Maybe Franklyn German can step it up. The key is they didn't give up any youth. They also shed Ramon Martinez, which can only help.

Polanco probably makes the Tigers a better team this year, but this year isn't likely their year, anyway. This deal only works for the Tigers if they sign him to an extension, or they trade him again.

Oh, and I love that cranberry-raspberry juice that Costco sells.

Nope, horrible, pointless trade for the Phils. May be no winner in this mess.
